Ron Brenner Architects Wins Blend Award

Ron Brenner Architects recently won a design award for a home constructed in Minneapolis - the 2014 BLEND AWARD.

The BLEND Award encourages and rewards builders, architects, and home owners to blend newly remodeled or constructed homes into the fabric of Minneapolis neighborhoods.  The Jury found that this contemporary adaptation of a Greek Revival design fit seamlessly into it's Linden Hills neighborhood setting.  The home was wonderfully crafted by Kyle Hunt & Partners.

We always like to reduce the impact of the garage - especially within the context of an established traditional neighborhood.  In this case we maintained an existing detached one car garage.  This allowed us to include only an additional one vehicle garage attached to the house.  Bonus space is located above the garage stall.

Another New Modern Farmhouse by Ron Brenner Architects

We have been working on another new custom designed home for a client to be constructed in Willernie, Minnesota.  The 4 bedroom home seamlessly incorporates contemporary siding and window patterns within classic mid-western farmhouse forms.  Check out the images below:

Entry Image - We conceived of a bosque of trees to delineate public entry from the private garage zone.  The wrapping front porch provides space to wait for oncoming guests.

Front Elevation Image - The garage is treated like a connected barn; right down to the red siding.  The elevation demonstrates the great attention we pay to scale and proportion on all of our designs.

New Modern Farmhouse Design Completed

Ron Brenner Architects has completed design work on this new modern farmhouse to be constructed in Minnesota.  The design features an open floor plan with a main floor master suite and four additional bedrooms on the upper floor.  An above garage bonus room provides for informal family gathering and activity space.  Hendel Homes of Wayzata, Minnesota has been selected to construct the home.

Birds Eye View.  A double gable roof form dominates the design with a wrap around front porch highlighting the front entry.  The main floor master bedroom suite quietly sits off to the left side.
Birds eye view 2.  A diagonal pathway connects the guest parking circle to the front entry porch.
